The thin teal marks are the sandhyās — twilight junctions between Manus, each as long as a Satya-yuga. Hover a wedge for its ruler; click to descend.

Day of Brahmā (Kalpa) — the Wheel of Vedic Time · कल्प

Day of Brahmā (Kalpa) in the Vedic reckoning of time (Śrīmad Bhāgavatam). It spans 4.32 billion years. The bright half of Brahmā’s day-and-night — a day of creation through which fourteen Manus rise and pass. The present day is the Śveta-Vārāha kalpa. If this whole 4.32-billion-year day were compressed to a single 24-hour day, all of recorded human history (~5,000 years) would flash by in about a tenth of a second.
