Brahmā’s Day & Night — the Wheel of Vedic Time · अहोरात्र

Brahmā’s Day & Night (Brahmā-ahorātra) in the Vedic reckoning of time (Śrīmad Bhāgavatam). It spans 8.64 billion years. One full day of Brahmā — a kalpa of creation, then a night of dissolution, each 4.32 billion years. Through the day fourteen Manus reign; in the night Brahmā sleeps and the three worlds lie withdrawn.
