Elemental dissolution at the end of Brahma's hundred-year life: the cascade runs in reverse — earth into water, water into fire, fire into air, air into space, elements into tanmatras, senses into ahankara, ahankara into mahat, mahat into prakriti — until the gunas rest in equilibrium.
Mahā-Viṣṇu breathes in. Every universe — with its Brahmā, its worlds and its time — is drawn back into his body and rests in the unmanifest. This is the prākṛtika pralaya, the dissolution of prakṛti herself, until the next out-breath.
